PSA-ME is part of the Professional Speakers Associaiton of the United Kingdom and International Federation for Professional Speakers global family, which has 6,000 speaker members in 12 country associations around the world.

All associations are run as non-profit establishments and all run by volunteering expert speakers who wish to educate others in joining such a profession and to grow the industry we are in.

All members adhere to professional codes of conduct and ethics, and have met certain criteria in eight core competencies to be approved as 'professional speakers' by their country board members. Some go on to become Fellow Professional Speakers (FPSA) and Certified Speaking Professionals (CSP), which are highest levels of competency and experience a member can gain in the speaking profession, for some it can take 5, 10 or 15 years to qualify.

Very few speakers go on, and then get elected by their peers every year, and awarded with the 'Speaker Hall of Fame, Council of Peers Award for Excellence' (Speaker Hall of Fame-CPAE). Only 189 men and women have received the CPAE award since 1977. The awards are held every year at the NSA-USA Annual Convention (the biggest event in the speaking industry).

At the NSA-UAE one speaker every year is also awarded the highest award of all, 'The Cavett Award', which is awarded for significant accomplishment, respect and admiration in the speaking profession. The NSA-USA was founded by Cavett Robert, CSP, CPAE.

The PSA-ME is currently under formation for the Middle East region, and has started with a UAE established Chapter. We are looking to recruit 30-50 founding members throughout the Middle East Region, before we officially launch. Membership is available currently in two key areas subject to approval to include, Speaker Member and Corporate Member. PSA-ME is looking to keep a balance of 50-50 for Full Speaker Members and Corporate Members. Two further membership categories will be introduced in 2009, called Affiliate and Candidate Member.

We are currently looking for experienced Founding Chapter Members and Leaders in 20 countries to include Oman, Bahrain, Yemen, Iran, Turkmanistan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Syria, Turkey, Pakistan, Jordan, Lebenon, Libya, Sudan, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Egpyt.

All present applications will be assessed by the PSA-ME Founding Committee and final approval processed by PSA-UK and the Board.

PSA-ME has regular Chapter Meetings, Workshops, Forums, Dinners and University events, which non-members and guests can attend to evalute what we do and meet the current members.

All current PSA-ME events are run as non-profit meetings all organized and operated by RAW LLC, a fully licensed trading company in the UAE.

For client enquiries who seek speakers for events, please note we are not a speakers bureau but we do charge a nominal administration fee of USD$100.00 for forwarding a completed speaker booking brief/form to all our members. Any speaker fees must be negotiated directly with the speaker booked and nothing to do with the PSA-ME.

We can also refer prospective meeting planners and event organizers directly with Middle East based Speaker Bureaus who work with many speakers; please note they do charge agency fees.

Our next PSA-ME Chapter Meeting will take place on MONDAY 6th APRIL 2009 in Dubai, UAE from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. We will have two PSA-ME members giving their 20 minute keynote speeches and geting professional feedback as part of the PSA-ME professional competencies.
